This week Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) received an application for Change of
Use (CoU) to a domestic dwelling for The Crown & Cushion Public House.
This is our last chance to save this vital community asset. HDC will only recognise
objections to this application in a specific way, so we kindly ask you to follow the
instructions below to ensure that our voices are heard. It only takes moments and failing
to do so could mean losing our pub forever.
1. Register on the Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) Public Access system
by either using this link Register here or using the following link:
https://publicaccess.huntingdonshire.gov.uk/online-applications/
and selecting the Register option. Once registered please Login.
2. Once logged in you can search for the applications using the reference numbers
or go direct to each using these links 25/00078/FUL and 25/00079/LBC to review
the documents and make your opinion known using the Comments tab.
These comments are taken very seriously by the Case Officer but must be
relevant to the application.
3. The Comments tab takes you to the ‘Make a Comment’ page where you enter
your details which will not be made public and will be kept confidential.
You can then choose to either:
Object (i.e. object to the change of use). Selecting this option increases the
chances of the pub remaining a pub and opening again.
Support (i.e. support the change of use). Selecting this option supports the loss
of the pub forever and kills off the chances of the pub ever opening again.
You can then type some comments. It is recommended you type your comments into a
separate file (Notepad, Word etc) so that it can be reused for both applications.
Your comment can be up to 2000 words and must be relevant, expressing something as
simple as wanting to see the pub open again as it is a vital part of the community and
restating your objection to the application. If you want to write more to expand on this
then feel free! Note that the pub is identified as an Asset of Community Value (ACV) in
our Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) and this can be mentioned if you wish.
When completed Submit your comments.
YOUR COMMENT SHOULD MADE TO BOTH 25/00078/FUL and 25/00079/LBC.
You can also email directly but it is best to only do this after making comments as above
if you are able to do so. The Case Officer for these applications is:
Hannah Hodges Hannah.hodges@huntingdonshire.gov.uk
